High schoolers in Michigan are also eligible for the Governor Youth Awards!

For 9-12th graders, students can apply for the Michigan Community Impact Award. This award is for anyone who has earned 50 hours of service/volunteer work in the past academic year.

12th graders are exclusively eligible for the Changemaker Award and the Youth Spirit of Hope Award. The Changemaker Award is for any Michigan senior who has put in 400+ hours of service/volunteer while in high school. The Youth Spirit of Hope Award is for any Michigan senior who has put in 200+ hours of service/volunteer while in high school.

Incoming 9th grade students can register for volunteer needs that are posted on Yoopers United, these will count towards hours for each of the awards. They can also log "individual hours" for volunteer needs that are not posted to the website and they will count towards this award.

Current high school students or graduates of the class of 2026 can retroactively log previously completed volunteer hours on the Yoopers United platform. They can log these hours by simply going to add hours and choosing one day from previous years to log all completed hours from that year. Each year should have a separate entry.

HOURS MUST BE LOGGED ON YOOPERS UNITED TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THESE AWARDS.
