Who We Are

Mission: To ensure that quality of life be maintained for our guard families during times of separation.

The Michigan Army National Guard Family Programs is an integral part of the Michigan Army National Guard (MIARNG), providing support and services to military families, especially during times of deployment, transition, and reintegration. We assist and advocate for the well-being of service members and their families by offering resources, education, and community-based support.

What We Do

We provide essential support to military families, including:

  • Crisis Intervention: Immediate counseling and referrals for situations like abuse, neglect, or harm to self/others.
  • Legal Referrals: Assistance with wills, Powers of Attorney, and the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.
  • Financial Guidance: Help with military pay, budgeting, and applications for grants or loans during hardship.
  • Health Benefits Support: Coordination with Health Benefits Advisers for enrollment, claims, and locating Tri-Care providers.
  • ID Cards/DEERS Assistance: Information and guidance on obtaining ID cards and enrolling in DEERS.
  • Local Resources: Referrals for child care, home repairs, military discounts, employment, and benefits in the local area.
  • Wellness Calls: Regular check-ins with families during deployment to offer resources and support.
  • Community Collaboration: Building partnerships with local organizations to improve outcomes for service members and their families.

These services ensure military families have the resources and support needed to navigate challenges and enhance their quality of life.
