Who We Are

Mission: To preserve and strengthen Downtown Marquette by creating a positive atmosphere for owners, businesses, investors, patrons, visitors, employees, and residents and is dedicated to preserving our historic architecture through planning and implementing of projects which inspire public and private investment.

Established in 1976 by Public Act 197, the Marquette Downtown Development Authority (MDDA) stands as a vibrant cornerstone of our city, devoted to nurturing the economic and physical revitalization of our downtown community.

Guided by a 9-member board, which includes the Marquette City Manager, the MDDA takes pride in curating the essence of Downtown Marquette. Our mission encompasses projects and programs aimed at fostering a thriving downtown experience, nurturing positive community growth, and cultivating a robust economic environment.
