The Dryland Dash is a part of the UP 200, just takes place in the fall. This race will take place in Negaunee Township October 11-12! A great event to see what these teams do to prepare themselves for the winter race season
The Upper Peninsula Sled Dog Association will host the 9th annual UP200 Dryland Dash on October 11 and 12, 2025.
Races start at 9am both mornings at the Negaunee Township Park, which is located at 42 M-35 in Negaunee, MI 49866. The event will feature races for wheeled rigs, scooters, bikes and canicross with 1, 2, 4 and 6-dog teams competing on a two mile loop. Musher’s two-day times will be totaled to determine winners of the $2500 cash purse.
This is a free event and spectators can watch these fast, amazing canine athletes eagerly compete for a share of the prizes. Different breeds of dogs, purebred or mixes will be used in the races. Come, watch sled dog races without snow, ice or long distances!
We need help setting up the orange fencing that lines the trail. This is a physical job for the most part, pounding stakes and tying down the fence. Both sides of a 2 mile trail.
We need folks to make sure the food table stays stocked, direct traffic, and just generally point folks in the right direction (even if it's to the people who have the answers!)
Help the teams get from where they are set up to the starting line and from the finish line back to camp. This is a physical job, so plan accordingly! All weather, please dress for the weather and plan accordingly! No Ice cleats or loose clothing!
