Help the Women's Federated Clubhouse host Centennial Events

Description

Do you have an interest in 1920s, '30s, and '40s fashion? Looking to spend some time helping a storied Marquette landmark celebrate 100 years of providing a community space?

Then this volunteer opportunity is right up your alley!

The Women's Federated Clubhouse is celebrating its Centennial on Saturday, August 1 with two events and is in need of volunteers to help throughout the day with set up, serving and clean up. The first event is a High Tea that begins at Noon which will include a historical presentation; and the second event is a social gathering beginning at 5:30 pm that includes hors d'ouevres and refreshments, a historical slideshow, silent auction and live piano.

Shifts run for two hours. Feel free to sign up for one two-hour shift, or multiple if you have time! Volunteers are also free to dress for the period in their own vintage clothing from 1920s-1940s (not required, but certainly fun!).

Depending on the time of the shift you sign up for, volunteer duties will entail:

  • Setting up chairs and tables
  • Assisting with silent auction set up
  • Serving catered food throughout both events
  • Rearranging chairs and tables between events
  • Cleaning up after both events

All volunteers can report to the main entrance, where someone will be checking with people as they enter. Just let them know you're there to volunteer and they'll get you set up! Come help with these great events that support a storied Marquette organization!
