Volunteer: National Night Out Vendor Check In

National Night Out is looking for one person to check in vendors as they arrive to the event. Duties will include checking vendors off a list and ensuring they know where to go.

This volunteer will meet with event organizers prior to the check-in process beginning to receive more detailed instructions, the vendor list, a walkie-talkie, and any other information as necessary.

Looking for volunteers for this family friendly event that supports local first responders and other local agencies.

Volunteers will rotate through a variety of positions including:

Checking with vendors to make sure they have what they need (water, etc), during the eventDirecting vehicle traffic in parking lotsHelping direct pedestrians at road crossingsPossibility to sit in the dunk tank! (Not required, but great for the right person! Looking for 45-minute shifts for this)Help close a road temporarily to allow a helicopter to land safelyDirect pedestrians to helicopter once it is ready for the public to viewHelp with games and activities as necessary (tug of war, dance competition, hula hoops, etc)Light clean up once the event is over

Volunteers will meet at 10:30 am at the main pavilion in the Peter Nordeen Park for an informational meeting. All volunteers will be given a walkie-talkie for communication as well as a bandana or other form of ID showing they are a volunteer. Once the meeting is over, volunteers will spread out to their assigned initial station. From there, volunteers will switch stations roughly every hour.
