Who We Are

Mission: To support the homeless in the community of Marquette, MI by providing an emergency shelter and access to community services that assist each person’s effort to become self-sufficient.

Room at the Inn, founded in 2007 by Helen McCormick, provides food, shelter, and assistance to individuals transitioning out of homelessness. Initially operating as a rotating shelter between local churches, the organization established Marquette’s first permanent emergency shelter in 2020. The new 30-bed facility, opened on December 24, 2020, offers 24/7 services and consolidates all programs under one roof. Room at the Inn remains committed to addressing homelessness in the community with dedication and hope.
