Who We Are

Each annual Rockestra features a group of local musicians from local bands who work together to give back to the Marquette County community.

What We Do

Rockestra began in 2017 when a group of rock musicians from various Marquette bands joined together to perform the Beatles, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” in honor of its 50th anniversary. That first concert featured over 30 local rock musicians and over two dozen high school students. The “Sgt. Pepper” concert and the next two, “Songs of the Sixties” (2018) and “Sounds of Summer”(2019) raised funds for the Marquette Area Pubic School’s music program. Our more recent events have raised money for Northern Michigan University's Student Emergency Fund, the United Way of Marquette and Music for All Kids. Rockestra 2025, Dancing Through the Decades, will create a scholarship for a Marquette Area Public Schools student who wants to pursue higher education in an art's based field.
