Purpose: To train community organizations and interested individuals in how to open a shelter for people impacted by a disaster and manage it for the first 24 hours.
Distances and limited trained volunteer capacity in the western UP make it difficult to quickly open and manage a shelters when disaster strikes. This session will teach what makes a good shelter, what supplies are needed and how to serve incoming clients.
