Help Build Trails at Dead River Community Forest with UPLC and NTN!
We need your help to establish trails into the Dead River Community Forest from Vielmetti-Peters Conservation Reserve in Marquette (map link here)!
As a volunteer, you may help with...
- Transporting tools and materials to the build site (we will use trucks for majority of transport).
- Using hand tools like rake, loppers, and McLeod
- Raking leaves and debris from the trails.
- Lopping and removing overgrown branches and brush from the area.
- Planting native shrubs and installing deer fencing
Benefits of Volunteering with UPLC...
- Connect with a community of conservationists
- Spend time outside in a scenic natural area
- Learn trail building skills
- Make a lasting impact by contributing to a meaningful project that will enhance the preserve and be appreciated by visitors for years to come!

Please note: this is a physically active, outdoor volunteer role that involves hands-on work on the trail. If you enjoy fresh air, teamwork, and a good workout, this could be a great fit! UPLC also has indoor and low-impact volunteer needs if you'd like to seek out another way to get involved! Email us for more information!
