Be part of an inspiring and meaningful day by supporting the “What Does Juneteenth Mean to Me?” Speech Contest Finals and Community Picnic. Volunteers will help create a welcoming and smooth experience for participants and attendees as we celebrate stories of freedom, heritage, and resilience.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Assist with event setup, including seating, signage, and sound check

  • Greet and guide guests and participants to designated areas

  • Help coordinate speech contest logistics, including timing and transitions

  • Support contest finalists with check-in and last-minute needs

  • Provide audience members with programs and picnic info

  • Assist event coordinators and judges during the speech contest

  • Help serve food and oversee picnic activities (lawn games, cleanup, etc.)

  • Aid in event breakdown and clean-up
