Looking for volunteers for this family friendly event that supports local first responders and other local agencies.
Volunteers will rotate through a variety of positions including:
- Checking with vendors to make sure they have what they need (water, etc), during the event
- Directing vehicle traffic in parking lots
- Helping direct pedestrians at road crossings
- Possibility to sit in the dunk tank! (Not required, but great for the right person! Looking for 45-minute shifts for this)
- Help close a road temporarily to allow a helicopter to land safely
- Direct pedestrians to helicopter once it is ready for the public to view
- Help with games and activities as necessary (tug of war, dance competition, hula hoops, etc)
- Light clean up once the event is over
Volunteers will meet at 10:30 am at the main pavilion in the Peter Nordeen Park for an informational meeting. All volunteers will be given a walkie-talkie for communication as well as a bandana or other form of ID showing they are a volunteer. Once the meeting is over, volunteers will spread out to their assigned initial station. From there, volunteers will switch stations roughly every hour.
