Room at the Inn and the Central Upper Peninsula Local Planning Body are looking for volunteers for our annual Point in Time Count! The Point in Time Count will take place January 29th meeting at the Catholic Social Services Building (347 Rock Street).
We will organize two waves of volunteers - with the first wave meeting at 6pm to meet for a quick training and going out at 7pm to cover KI Sawyer, Gwinn, Negaunee and Ishpeming. The second wave will meet at 9pm for a quick training and go out at 10pm in Marquette and Marquette Township.
Volunteers will be placed on a street outreach team led by homelessness services provider staff members to go out within Marquette County to log the number of sheltered and unsheltered individuals experiencing homelessness on January 29th. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires homelessness services providers to conduct the Point in Time Count annually to report data on homelessness in their region.
